- Develop fine motor skills through manipulating crayons, play dough, gluing and clay
- Recognize and identify primary colors and four basic shapes
- Focus, sit and listen for a five minute story or activity
- Develop independent behavior which is measured by such things as the ability to wash hands, sip from a cup, remove and put on simple clothing without help
- Learn to cooperate with peers by playing in a group of two or three children for a brief time
- Begin to verbalize needs
- Develop sensory awareness by working with different textured materials
- Separate from parent and interact with other adults in familiar surroundings
